Vintage Nice

Every Monday in Nice, on the Cote d’Azur, they hold a very famous vintage market. My friends have been going on about it for ages, showing me their purchases with great pride: small cabinets, garden chairs and also Provencal table clothes and tea towels… So in June I started to work on my almost-husband, trying to convince him to give up golf for a day. And finally around mid August, he did!

We left Alassio at 8.30 and after an hour we were at “sortie 54 – Nice Nord”. At the motorway pay toll a sign for tourists warned us: “keep your windows shut, secure the car’s doors: attention “voleurs” (thieves)”. So we decided to leave the car at the car park in Place Massena and walk through the old part of town to quickly get to the vintage market (in Cours Saleya).

The first tour of the market was just perfect: not too many people, not too hot. We spotted a photographic lamp for our living room that we’d wanted for a long time and after a well-deserved shellfish lunch break of, we bought it! I can’t wait to go back to Torino in September, restore it and place it in the living room!
